Euro Trip (2010)

The Trip
The trip grew from me and Fay having some vague idea of going to the Alps and a random ferry booking made on a whim. Once the ferry was booked not alot happened untill a few weeks before we went, when we suddenly decided we should know where we were going! So we sorted out a whole bunch of campsites to visit and off we went! The aim was to start off at home (Coventry) head to Lauterbrunnen (an awesome little village in the Swiss Alps) chill out a bit there, then head back home again, stopping off for a few days along the way in places like Chatel, Lake Geneva and Fontainebleau.
In the end we didnt stay at any of the campsites we planned, save one, which was in Lauterbrunnen. Check out The Route for where we went.
Ok, so I will be the first to admit that although this does qualify as a bit of an adventure, it was done in relative comfort. All transport was done in style (Clause the trusty VW Polo, he sadly passed recently R.I.P) and the days were spent relaxing and doing whatever we wanted. However I have decided to include this for 2 reasons;
1. it was amazing planning practise, or more to the point, what to do on a trip if the plan goes wrong/you dont have a plan. Thanks to this little trip I would now have no problem jumping on a ferry out of the country tomorrow and making the rest up from there.
2. Sleeping in a tent for 2 weeks straight (except for 3 nights in the car, the third of which was so awful I will never willingly sleep in a car in another country again!) gets you very used to tent life, which is a pretty useful thing to have if you like being outdoors.
So there you have it, a quick rundown of what happened. Check out The Route and The Photos for a bit more info and to get a feel for the trip.
